Hello all!!

Thanks Cindy for sending Scout's 4th of July picture!! Here is Scout enjoying his pool. Doesn't he look so cool, on that hot July day!! Scout loves the water and at every chance that he gets he'll dive right in! Scout gets along great with all of our campers and he loves to stay the night sometimes too!!

If you have an exciting story or funny picture of your camper, PLEASE send it to me so that we can share it with everyone!!

Hello all!! I hope that everyone had a wonderful and safe 4th of July. I just wanted to remind everyone now that it is hot outside to make sure that all of your furry babies have fresh water at all times, but make sure that after playing or walking, they DO NOT drink large amounts of water all at once(this could cause bloat). What I do after I play with my pack, is give them chopped up ice, that way they cool down, get hydrated, plus they think that they are getting treats!!
I am sure that all of you know NEVER leave your dog in any car for any length of time, cars get so hot so quickly and could possibly dehydrate your dog or even be fatal.
If anyone has any cute 4th of July pics or stories PLEASE send them to me so that I can share them with everyone. My funny story for the 4th is that my Mia loves fireworks. Every time that one went off she had to run all over to try and find it. If they went off in the air she would bark and jump in the air to try and catch it. Pretty amusing for those of us watching.
My Bella on the other hand was pretty scared. I gave her some calming tablets that REALLY worked well. If anyone is interested in knowing about these tablets let me know, and I will get you the information on them.

Hello Everyone!! We all know that it is bug season so just a little reminder to make sure that all of your pets have their heartworm medication and bug repellents(i.e. frontline).

June 9th 2009

Hello all!! Thank you all for your responses to our blog. Just a little tid bit of information to everyone that is welcoming a new puppy into their families. Please don't forget about the senior dog in the family. We all know that it is easy to ooh and ahh over the new cute little puppy, however, we don't want the senior dog to get jealous. When I welcomed my new puppy in the house, I still made sure that everyone else still got "Mommy & Me" time every night so that all of my babies know that they are important to me. If you have any input on this topic PLEASE let me know so that we can discuss it.

New Beginnings

Welcome, or welcome back, to Melisa's Doggie Dirt.

For those of you who have checked in several times, and found a blank page, I apologize . . . and share your frustration! Technology got in the way of our effort to bring Camp Bow Wow into the "blog world", but hopefully things are now on track and I can keep you posted on a regular basis!

I want to welcome everyone to my new blog and introduce myself, if you have not already met me. My name is Melisa and I am the assistant manager here at Camp. I have an entire pack of dogs that I live with . . and that OWN ME!

People always ask me how I do it - I work with your babies all day and then leave Camp and have my pups at home waiting for me. My response is always "I wouldn't have it any other way, they are my passion and I couldn't live without them!"

Make sure to check in regularly as I will give you the "dirt" on some of the dogs here at Camp. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns PLEASE -- don't be shy and just ask. I will do my best to get back with you as soon as possible.

I look forward to keeping in touch with all of you. Be sure to become a follower to see what others at Camp Bow Wow are talking about.

Thanks for check in with Melisa's Doggie Dirt.
